Installation

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or better
  • 64 Bit
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 1 GB free disk space
  • Internet Access for historic stock prices

Installation

Run our installer. It automatically installs all required dependencies.

First Steps

  • Enter a company name, ticker symbol or ISIN into the search field and click "Search"
  • Select one of the stocks and click "Add"
  • Repeat the above steps for at least two more stocks
  • Now click on "Recommendation"
  • Select: * "Hierarchical Risk Parity" as method * "Leodit Wolf" as risk method * "Ward" as linkage method * "Analysis" as chart
  • Although the software only uses the price of the stocks (the currency is only used for the conversion of the price) you can see in the chart how the software groups similar stocks (eg based on industry, region).
  • You can add more stocks at any time and rerun the optimization.
  • The recommended allocation tries to equalize the risk (ie the variance) of the respective sub-trees (left and right).
  • If you have selected enough stocks (and the minimum limits are large enough) only a part of the stocks will be used
  • You can now also display the allocation graphically: Click on "Chart" and select "Allocation".
  • If you now set a cutoff date (eg one year ago) and select the "Backtest" chart, you can see how a portfolio would have been optimized one year ago (with the data available at that time) and how the total value of this portfolio would have developed since then.
  • Please note that you probably unconsciously used information when selecting the stocks (and also other optimization parameters) that you did not have one year ago, and therefore the result of the backtest will probably be better than a future result.
  • You should now clear the cutoff date to see the current allocation.
